The Opportunity
PRICING, PRODUCT AND DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY
- Conduct market analysis & review of competitor pricing & strategies pertaining to parts & accessories.
- Propose & establish pricing & trading strategies for specific parts category and market segment such as fleet, internal and independent workshops and DIY customers
- Conduct regular review & monitor the sales performance & financial health of distribution partners to identify key partners based on coverage & capability.
- Identify potential stockist partners in diverse countries & location that help meet the service standard & guidelines as defined by C&C and helps meet business objectives.
- Proactively identify & partner with stockist across location that helps meet the requirement for newly launched cars & brand of vehicles.
- Establish robust distribution & supply chain channels that ensure ready availability of stocks at 3rd party workshops in addition to C&C workshops thereby ensuring better turnaround time for customers.
- Regular review on export of P&A to multiple countries ensuring stipulated guidelines are met
- Identify potential areas for creation of own product DPS that complements the parts & accessories as supplied by the Principals
SALES MANAGEMENT
- Define & identify individual targets for each stockist in line with the business target.
- Effectively negotiate sales target and pricing with stockists across multiple countries that will help achieve the profitability targets.
- Collaborate with the Legal department to define contractual terms & conditions binding on the stockis.
- Conduct regular monitoring & review of stockist performance against the KPIs and levels as set by the Principals and provide performance review reports to the Principals.
- Conduct Performance review coaching & meetings with the stockist at regular intervals to help guide them and assess their competitiveness and feasibility of partnering with them in view of the overall business objectives.
PRINCIPAL & SUPPLIERS MANAGEMENT
- Review past years purchase volume with reference to number of vehicle-on-the-road, negotiate with principal partner for achievable annual purchase target and potential rebates.
- Review pricing and supply situation; negotiate with principals for better pricing and delivery lead-time; oversee preparation of monthly sales and quarterly projection reports for submission to principal partners.
- Liaise closely to update principals partners on performance and delivery schedule; organize market surveys on key market data upon principal partner’s request; establish strong relations with all (in-bound) suppliers
INTERNAL CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
- Constantly review & monitor the purchasing patter of internal C&C customers i.e. After-sales workshop to assess the demand & requirements and also ensure optimal stock inventory levels & guidelines are adhered at all times.
- Identify potential sales/ performance issues & bottlenecks to help minimize the same.
- Initiate meeting with the Parts Store & Workshop manager if performance falls below dealership target and propose and commit to a resolution plan with principal partner.
- Educate & support internal customers in the use of enterprise-wide computerized inventory management system to streamline overall inventory and operations management
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Identify training needs for staff based on their strength & weaknesses and ensure adequate training is provided to help build staff capability & performance.
- Conduct yearly performance review for staff and provide constructive feedback & coaching for maximizing performance.
- Effectively manage career progression path for staff capable of taking challenging tasks & additional responsibilities.
- Graduate Degree in engineering or supply chain management
- Minimum of 10 years of supply chain management experience with 5 years in a managerial capacity
- Knowledge in automotive parts business would be preferred
- Supply chain management in multi supply sources and stock points environment
- Good knowledge in the application of inventory management tool
- Good negotiation skills
- Able to leverage on information technology to streamline operations
- Strong Interpersonal & Communications skills
- Strong Business Planning & Analytical Skills
- Good understanding of custom regulations for overseas markets
- Strong Problem Solving Skills & the ability to multi-task
