The Opportunity

  • Systematically perform body damage diagnosis on damaged vehicles.
  • Inspect accident-damaged vehicles and identify required panel repair or replacement work.
  • Advise and support the Workshop Foreman in determining the correct body repair scope when applicable.
  • Carry out dismantling and installation of exterior and interior vehicle parts required for panel repair.
  • Perform panel beating, reshaping, alignment and repair of damaged vehicle body panels.
  • Carry out structural and non-structural body repair according to the repair method and manufacturer’s specifications.
  •  Check and perform adaptations based on the completed body damage diagnosis.
  • Carry out welding, cutting, grinding, riveting, bonding and other approved repair processes where required.
  • Prepare repaired panels and body surfaces for the paint preparation process.
  • Ensure proper fitment, panel gaps, alignment and finishing before handing over the vehicle for paintwork.
  • Perform replacement of damaged panels, brackets, reinforcements and related body components when required.
  • Carry out minor chassis, frame and body alignment checks using suitable measuring tools and equipment.
  • Operate and work with chassis alignment and body repair equipment such as Celette bench, Car-O-Liner systems and electronic chassis measuring tools.
  •  Remove and refit vehicle trims, bumpers, lamps, mouldings, doors, fenders, bonnets, tailgates and other body-related parts as necessary.
  • Support accident repair work involving different vehicle materials, including steel, high-strength steel, aluminium and plastic components where applicable.
  • Sound understanding of European vehicle body repair methods and manufacturer repair standards.
  • Experience in aluminium body repair would be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding and practical usage of Celette bench, Car-O-Liner and electronic chassis measurement equipment would be an added advantage.
  • Ensure all repaired areas are free from sharp edges, welding defects, corrosion risk and poor finishing.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping, safety and cleanliness at the workplace.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment and repair materials are used correctly and maintained in good working condition.
  • Carry out vehicle vacuuming or basic cleaning when necessary before handover.
Additional Duties, if applicable
  1. Carry out trouble diagnosis and systematic problem checks according to the specified procedure set by the Principal.
  2. Test customers’ vehicles for the purpose of further diagnosis and after completion of repair.
  3. Support electric vehicle body repair work by following high-voltage safety procedures and approved repair guidelines.
  4. Assist in damage photo-taking, repair documentation and supplementary damage reporting when required.
  5. Support other workshop operations when assigned by the Workshop Foreman or Body & Paint Manager.
Job Requirements

Requirements:
• A minimum qualification of NITEC in Automotive Technology or related discipline
• 2 years of relevant experience in body and paintwork repairs
• Possess a valid Class 3 driving license
• Basic command of English (both verbal and written)
• Team player with initiative and a positive attitude towards learning

• Have panel beater experience in Continental cars
