The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technician to join our Service Team. You will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on light and heavy commercial vehicles. This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and a proactive mindset to resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
The ideal candidate must be confident in handling unfamiliar or challenging repairs with an R&D-driven attitude, always striving to learn and improve. A solid understanding of vehicle systems across various commercial models is essential to ensure accurate diagnostics and high-quality repair work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Diagnostics & Repairs

Perform thorough inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial vehicles (light and heavy).

Confidently troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues across multiple brands.

Take initiative in handling complex or unfamiliar faults using a research and development approach.

Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and company standards in terms of quality and safety.
2. Workshop Operations Support

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth job flow and timely completion of tasks.

Maintain proper documentation of repair work, parts usage, and job completion details in Kerridge KCML or other systems.

Support the workshop team by sharing knowledge and assisting in complex repair cases when needed.
3. Quality Assurance & Continuous Learning

Uphold high standards of workmanship and proactively check the quality of completed jobs.

Stay updated on the latest diagnostic tools, vehicle technologies, and repair techniques.

Participate in technical training and upskilling programs to maintain technical proficiency.
4. Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and ensure work is carried out in a clean and hazard-free environment.

Report safety concerns or equipment issues promptly and comply with workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations.

Ensure proper usage, maintenance, and calibration of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements:
• A minimum qualification of NITEC in Automotive Technology or related discipline
• Preferably 2-3 years of relevant experience in automotive service & repair
• Possess a valid Class 3 driving license
• Basic command of English (both verbal and written)
• Team player with initiative and a positive attitude towards learning
